Cyfrinach Castell Coch is a children’s book written by Catrin Dafydd and illustrated by James Field.

Sam lives in Tongwynlais and Chloe lives in Taff’s Well. The friends go to the same school and their adventure begins on a school trip to Castell Coch. The children meet a mysterious stranger after finding a strange map and discover the secrets of the castle.
James Field kindly provided the illustrations for this article after I contacted him in 2015. I was sad to hear that he passed away in 2018. His artwork is available to view on jamesfieldillustrations.co.uk.
