A New Home
CastellCoch.com is a collection of memorabilia, stories and images inspired by Cardiff’s fairytale castle.
I’ve been writing about the castle for about 13 years over on Tongwynlais.com and decided that this content needs a new home.
My collection includes postcards, artwork, books, maps and photos. You’ll also be able to enjoy content that fellow collectors and enthusiasts have kindly shared with me.

Cadw have looked after the castle since 1984 and work really hard to preserve it and engage visitors. Make sure you visit their website and follow them on social media to get all the up to date news.
There are some brilliant resources if you want to dive deeper into the history and development of the castle. The Castell Coch guidebook by David McLees is a fantastic book and well worth buying.
Planning a visit to Castell Coch?
Castell Coch is managed by Cadw, the Welsh Government’s historic environment service.
CastellCoch.com is a celebration of this magnificent building, with its rich history and contemporary impact. I’m interested in art, history, photography and the outdoors so the site will feature content organised by these categories.

About Me
I’ve been fascinated by Castell Coch since moving to Tongwynlais and launching a website about the village. Over the last 13 years, I’ve written lots of articles about the castle and started my own collection of memorabilia.
CastellCoch.com is a personal project that I work on in my spare time. I don’t work for Cadw or in the heritage sector. The staff and volunteers at the castle have an amazing passion for their work and it’s always a pleasure speaking to them.
The site is primarily a creative outlet for me to explore and document this local landmark. I enjoy discovering artwork inspired by the castle and the amazing images captured by photographers.
I’m always stumbling across interesting information and stories that deserve a home. I hope this site will prove to be a useful resource for people to discover more about Castell Coch.
